Assessment
Students can be given assessments to help me plan lessons.Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
This ongoing class will be 1:1 tutoring. **The first lesson will be a pre assessment to help me understand what grade level topics the learner needs support in. -The parent is responsible for sending the grade level 48 hours upon enrollment. If there is any homework to work on, send a clear image prior to class. -In order to have a successful learning experience, you must sign up at least 48 hours prior to the start time of class. -If there is a time or day that is not listed, send me a suggestion and I will see if I have availability. Each week students will practice a math skill based on the grade level and math skills the learner needs support in. We will use virtual manipulatives, games and real-life application problems to make the lessons fun and engaging. Each lesson will follow the following format (with the exception of the days we play Escape Games or have an assessment): -Warm up: Learners are presented a series of problems to solve, related to the days content. -Mini lesson: Students are taught how that relates to the days lesson and learn new content. -Practice: Students are given problems to solve using the new content learned. -Application: Students apply what they learned to a new situation, such as a real-life problem or fun game situation. -Synthesis: Students discuss or share what they learned. **This class is 100% personalized so you may send me suggestions on things you would like me to cover or provide for your learner.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome to my online classroom. My name is Jessica and I specialize in teaching math and science. While I primarily teach math, I also love sharing my love of horses and nature. I enjoy making learning engaging with an energetic personality, exciting games and learning resources.
I am a former public school teacher, but left the field when I had my first child. I have taught ages pre-k through 6th grade in private and public education. I specialized in 6th grade math and science for two of those school years. I have just recently received my Forest Teacher certification and opened a Nature Preschool on our farm.
I have a bachelor’s degree from The University of Louisville in Elementary Education with a focus on Math. I have a master’s degree from Western Kentucky University in Teacher Leadership with a focus on Math Coaching. Teaching is my passion.
I believe that all students can learn through positive encouragement and channeling their passions to make learning enjoyable. I try to instill a love of learning in my students by making lessons engaging and fun.
My pets include two German shepherds, one pony and two horses. My hobbies include, horseback riding, crafting, hiking, gardening and reclaiming old furniture. I can’t wait to meet and learn about your learner, too!
