CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.OA.B.2 Students will build fluency adding and subtracting within 20 using mental strategies. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.NBT.B.9 Students will be able to explain why addition and subtraction strategies work, using place value and the properties of operations. Students will understand and apply a variety of addition and subtraction strategies with precision. Students will be able to show and explain their mathematical thinking using correct math vocabulary. Students will examine mathematical strategies for effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency.
Occasionally, optional homework or practice problems may be provided.
Learners may wish to bring materials to practice with in class such as paper/writing utensil or whiteboard/marker. The teacher will post in the classroom prior to class if any specific materials are required for the lesson (such as a printed worksheet).

At the end of Part I, your learner will complete a Nearpod assessment to demonstrate their progress in mastering the skills and standards covered in the class. The teacher will also provide written feedback on learner progress, participation and guidance for next steps.
