Beginner Level
Students will learn how to:

🟨 Decode and read CVC words: Students will learn to recognize and read consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words, blending sounds together to form words.

🟧 Identify and read words with digraphs: Students will learn to recognize and read common digraphs (e.g., sh, th, wh, ch) in words.

🟥 Read and spell words with "magic e" (long vowels): Students will understand the role of the "magic e" in changing vowel sounds from short to long (e.g., cap to cape) and apply this knowledge to both reading and spelling.

🟪 Utilize "dge" endings: Students will learn when to use the "dge" spelling pattern at the end of words (e.g., judge, edge) and read and spell words with this pattern.

🟩 Apply "tch" in appropriate contexts: Students will learn when to use the "tch" spelling pattern in words (e.g., watch, patch) and read and spell words with this pattern.

🟨 Add suffix "ed" to words: Students will learn to read and spell words with the suffix "ed" and understand how this suffix can change the meaning and pronunciation of base words (e.g., jump to jumped).
