Description
Class Experience
This class will continue a student's study of Latin, using the Cambridge series and working our way up to translating actual ancient texts. Students will be expected to complete translation homework, informal research assignments, and keep up-to-date on their vocabulary.
Ms. Bender holds a BA in Historical Studies from Stockton University, where she studied Latin as her chosen language, and MA in Egyptology from the University of Toronto. She has experience teaching ESL, as well as tutoring a variety of topics. She knows how to make things fun while facilitating learning in her unique, personalized style.
Digital course materials will be provided, though if your student learns best from hard copies, they are easily purchased.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Discussion of Roman culture unavoidably includes topics such as slavery and violence.
