Class Experience
In this ongoing, one on one American Sign Language class, the teacher will work with the student on their level to further their ASL knowledge. An example of a beginners class would include: First week: Alphabet and numbers. Second week: Introductions and polite conversation. Third week: Proper fingerspelling techniques and questions in American Sign Language. Fourth week: Proper interactions with the deaf community and negative words and statements. For an intermediate/advanced student, it would look more like this: Week one, reviewing your prior knowledge and explaining proper interactions with the deaf community. Week two, starting a grammar review of American Sign Language. Week three, more in depth grammar study. Week four, a silent class focused on proper grammar and receptive skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach American Sign Language, both vocabulary and the actual language. I studied education in college, and earned a degree in deaf education. Later in life, I lost my hearing, so my knowledge of ASL and deaf culture has expanded!
I believe education should be both professional and enjoyable. If I enjoy teaching, the student enjoys learning!
I have five daughters and have homeschooled them from the start. Now I share my love of ASL and show choir with the local homeschooling community.
In addition, I'm a writer. While I'm currently writing a children's book, you can find my writings on my website.
