In this class you will learn about basic rhythms, an important part of music fundamentals. You will be able to sing, clap, play and read basic note rhythms. *This class is perfect if you are beginning a new instrument and would like to improve your music theory, that is understanding of the notes you are learning. You do not, however, need prior knowledge of music to book this class. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLASS BREAK-DOWN The following are music vocabulary words you will be introduced to: Quarter note, eighth notes, quarter rest, and repeat sign. LEARN: Music vocabulary- rhythm, quarter note, eighth notes, quarter rest, and repeat sign. LISTEN: Examples of each note value/music symbol. CLAP: Each rhythm example shown on the screen./Use a popular song follow along rhythms-"Thunder" by Imagine Dragons SING: Each rhythm together as a class. DRAW: each note on whiteboard as a class to become familiarized with each note symbol. CREATE: an example of your own 4-beat rhythm and share with class. PLAY: Rhythm detection game./Rhythm Randomizer End of Class.
Learning Goals
-Students will be familiarized with basic music theory vocabulary: rhythm, quarter note, eighth notes, quarter rest, repeat sign.
-Students will be to sing/clap/identify/ & create basic rhythm examples.
