Class Experience

This class is designed to expand on my Acrylic 101 class, but can also be taken independently.
In this multi-day course, we will be learning about different acrylic painting styles, and the painting techniques needed to create each style. In each class, we will have a different style focus and complete a painting using the techniques discussed in class. I will be painting right along with the students to demonstrate the techniques and explain each lesson. This class is perfect for painters wanting to learn different techniques to improve their art skills and explore different painting styles to create beautiful paintings. Acrylic paints, brushes, and canvas paper will be needed for this class. Please see the supply list for a complete list of supplies.

Learning Goals
My mission for all of my classes is that every learner has the opportunity to be creative. I believe creativity is so important, and I want to give students the chance to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment. The goal is for each student in this particular class to learn about acrylic techniques and brushes to gain the confidence to create their own amazing artwork at home.

Parental Guidance
Acrylic paints can be hard to get off of furniture and out of clothing. Please make sure students have a space to work that is ok to get a bit messy. I recommend wearing old clothes that you won't mind if they get a little paint on them. Acrylic does come off of hair and skin with just a little soap and water.
Supply List
Learners will need a couple of supplies for painting. If you already have some supplies feel free to use what you have! You WILL need paints, brushes, and some canvases to complete this class.

For this class, I like canvas paper. It's thinner and cheaper than purchasing traditional canvases. I think it's perfect for practicing techniques. If you would like to use a regular canvas for the artwork portion of class feel free, but the canvas paper will work just fine!

I recommend a set of paints so you have multiple colors to choose from. A set with larger tubes is great if you are doing multiple classes. Each week I will be sending out a list of paint colors we will be using for that particular class but in general, all classes can be completed with red, yellow, blue, green, black, and white paint. On most class days learners will have the option to choose their colors.

A set of brushes is also a great idea to experiment and learn about different brush sizes and shapes! The brush set linked, is my favorite sizes and shapes. You might already have some at home!
