Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Everything I teach in this course is credible and it stems from my own personal life experiences, as well as my teaching qualifications in various subjects such as social sciences, career studies, etc. I am currently teaching career studies and business studies to my high schools students. My careers studies course encompasses a lot of the content I have created for this course. For example, financial literacy, resumes and cover letters, job searching, conflict resolution, decision making strategies, building resilience, building confidence and leadership skills, and effective ways to communicate. These are all the same materials as I am currently teaching to my careers studies students. My various roles as a coach, teacher, mentor, tutor, sales associate, and speaker all allowed me to learn these skills hands on through practice and situational learning. Additionally, I am qualified in Ontario to teach subject areas like social sciences, guidance and careers studies, business studies (financial management and starting a business), and cooperative education. These qualifications have given me a background of knowledge and practice to engage in this type of learning in a classroom setting. I have taught this material for 4 years now and with students in the age range of 13-21 years old, depending on which schools I was working in at the time.
