This class is meant to be social, active and to build skills that are so important to this age: literacy, numeracy, social, critical thinking, and more! Each class, we will say hello to one another and learn the rules and concepts of the game. While the games may be familiar favorites (scavenger hunts, guessing games, etc. ) the themes and skills learned will vary. Each class will be different to accommodate learners and to keep things fresh! We may focus on counting one week and letter sounds the next! We may practice rhyming next and then observational skills! The options are endless, but one thing is certain, it will be a great time! Games Schedule (If anything changes or is added, it will be listed in the classroom.) Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I am Ms. Marie, a lover of learning, playing and creating! I have been doing these things all of my life, and been sharing them with learners of all ages for 13 years!
I have been a "teacher" all of my life (babysitter, camp counselor, resident assistant, Peace Corps volunteer), but formally, I have been teaching since 2009. Much of my experience comes from teaching 3, and 4-year old children in a private preschool, and I have taught 1st and 2nd grade.
My strength as a teacher comes from teacher my ability to follow the interest of my learners and to create meaningful, play-based learning experiences in my classes. My classes incorporate literacy, numeracy, science and social studies in hands on ways so that learners can explore, create and engage with materials and each other. Whether a journaling class, a preschool class or a games camp, I have a ton of energy and loads of enthusiasm! I look forward to meeting you in my classroom!
