Use code SLESSGAME33 for $3 off! Show and tell has always been a beloved activity of children, and is definitely a favorite of my students'! In this class, learners will have the chance to bring items of their choice to share with others! This is an ongoing social time that will allow students the chance to share about themselves and an item of interest. Learners will be able to socialize with each other and practice asking and answering questions. Each week will have a theme, but some weeks will be "free choice." Themes are broad and can be interpreted in many ways, to ensure your learner can always find something to share! We will start each meeting with introductions and a quick ice-breaker game and/or get to know you activity to allow students to get comfortable with speaking and sharing. This is meant to be a fun, casual time for students to share and socialize - no pressure! Please ensure that all items brought to show and tell are appropriate to be shared in a classroom setting. Weekly Themes for classes: October 31: Clothing November 7: Souveniers November 14: Brown November 21: Something you're thankful for November 28: No class. You will not be charged. December 5: A favorite memory December 12: Green December 19: No theme: Free Choice! December 26: No class. You will not be charged. January on: Coming soon! *Sibling discounts are available! Please contact me for a discount code.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! I am Ms. Katie. I teach classes of different interests and topics for young learners. I have a passion for this age group and love to interact with my students in fun and engaging ways!
I believe that learning should be FUN and that even our youngest learners should have the opportunity to express themselves while developing and following their own interests. I strive to make my classroom a safe, engaging space where all learners feel comfortable doing so. I also believe in tailoring learning to a student's development, interests, and abilities. I have enjoyed the freedom to provide such educational experiences to my own children whom I homeschool, and love doing the same for my learners now on Outschool!
I have taught in a variety of settings and environments for the last 13 years. I have been a teacher for over 10 years. I spent 9 years in the public education system as a classroom teacher, 3 in 3rd grade and 6 in Kindergarten. I taught the entire 2020-21 school year virtually, to 50 Kindergarten students! I have years of experience in learning support, gifted support, autism support, emotional support. I have also helped to run an outdoor, nature-centered camp for children ages 4-14. I served as an Envirothon coach for grades 3 and 4, and helped to start and run a "Storybook STEM" club for elementary aged children. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master's Degree in Education. I am also a Google Certified Educator.
On a personal note, I love being outside, hiking, reading, traveling, baking, and being a mom to my own 3 young children who also love to take classes on Outschool.
