Modern Greek : Learn the Basics

Please note this is the flexible version of my "Greek for beginner I" class. There are NO live meetings for this class. The material will be posted weekly and you can view it during the week at your convenience. 

Learners will watch short pre-recorded videos and see flashcards with the new vocabulary . In the end of every video and lesson each student will have to do interactive  matching exercises and record himself / herself speak and greet his classmates . 

Learners will learn how to greet other people ,ask for and give  information , present themselves to their friends, learn to count and describe their house . 

Homework will be a combination of written and video assignments. For example, students will be asked to record and post a video introduction, in Greek . I also ask that audio recordings be posted weekly so that I can check on pronunciation. Students will also practice their vocabulary skills with each other through posting introductions , playing bingo together or simulating real -life conversations.

Week 1  The BASICS ( The Greek Alphabet / Stress/ Intonations / Vowels/ Consonants/ Basic greetings  )
Week 2  Weather and Seasons 
Week 3 : Personal information( Assignment : make an ID card / your family tree)
Week 4 : Members of the family 
Week 5 : Personal pronouns / numbers / colors / Basic verbs  έχω ,υπάρχει ,είμαι
Week 6 : Parts of the house and objects
