In Minecraft Survival Club: Explore, Build, and Survive Together, students will work as a team to navigate the challenges of survival mode in a safe, private server. Each session is an opportunity to explore, gather resources, build shelters, and take on exciting survival challenges. Whether fending off mobs at night, constructing a thriving village, or venturing into caves in search of rare materials, students will develop essential problem-solving skills while having fun in a collaborative environment. This class focuses on hands-on learning, where students will naturally develop survival skills such as crafting, mining, farming, and combat as they play. Rather than following a strict lesson plan, sessions will be dynamic, with goals set based on the group's interests and challenges introduced to encourage creativity and teamwork. Some sessions may focus on fortifying a base against enemy mobs, while others might involve resource collection for large-scale building projects. Students will also encounter themed survival challenges, such as starting on an isolated island or working with limited tools, which will encourage them to think strategically. Throughout the class, I will serve as a guide, offering tips, answering questions, and helping students stay engaged. This class is fully interactive, with no lectures or slides—everything is learned through play, discussion, and teamwork. Players of all experience levels are welcome, and since the class runs as an ongoing session, students can join at any time and immediately become part of the adventure. Each session is a new opportunity to build, explore, and survive together.
Learning Goals
Build a Sense of Community – Engage in a friendly and supportive environment where students can share ideas, strategies, and achievements.
Develop Resilience and Perseverance – Learn from mistakes, adapt to setbacks, and keep improving survival strategies.

Parental Guidance
This class takes place in Minecraft, which is rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and up) by the ESRB for fantasy violence. Players may encounter in-game dangers such as hostile mobs (zombies, skeletons, creepers, etc.), lava, and environmental hazards, which could be mildly scary to some younger learners. There is no real-world danger, and all interactions occur within the game in a safe, private server.
Students will need a licensed copy of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition to participate. A private server will be used, ensuring a secure and controlled environment. No public servers or third-party interactions will be involved. Learners do not need to create additional accounts beyond their official Minecraft account.
Gamer Tag Requirement & Privacy Guidelines:
To join the private server, students will need to provide their gamer tag. To maintain privacy and comply with Outschool’s safety policies:
- Gamer tags must be sent via private message to the instructor.
- Students should NOT share their gamer tags in the classroom discussion area. Any public comments containing gamer tags will be removed for privacy protection.
- The private server will only be open during class hours. Students will not be able to access the server outside of scheduled sessions.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding privacy, gameplay, or technical requirements, please feel free to reach out before class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have extensive experience with Minecraft, having played the game for many years across both Survival and Creative modes. My time in the game has given me a deep understanding of its mechanics, from resource gathering and crafting to advanced building techniques and survival strategies. I have spent countless hours designing structures, exploring different biomes, and overcoming in-game challenges, which allows me to guide students through a fun and educational experience.
While I am new to teaching on Outschool, I have experience explaining Minecraft concepts and strategies to others, helping both new and experienced players improve their skills. My teaching approach focuses on hands-on learning, teamwork, and problem-solving, encouraging students to experiment, collaborate, and develop critical thinking skills through gameplay.
Additionally, I have experience in construction and building design in real life, which translates well into Minecraft's worldbuilding aspects. This background helps me teach students about structural design, planning, and resource management in a way that connects both digital and real-world problem-solving.
My goal is to create a welcoming and engaging space where students can learn through play, collaborate with their peers, and build confidence in their abilities. I look forward to bringing my passion for Minecraft into the classroom and helping students grow their skills while having fun!
