Welcome to Minecraft Missions, where Minecraft enthusiasts in grades 4-10 can join forces to build spectacular, large-scale creations in a collaborative environment! Our student-centered learning approach focuses on collaborative projects, providing an opportunity for students to work together and develop social, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a unique Minecraft universe. Whether your child is an experienced player or new to the game, Minecraft Missions is the perfect opportunity for them to take their skills to the next level! In this course, offered in a 1/2 day of learning of 5 sessions, students will explore the principles of creating dynamic multiplayer challenges, identify different methods and techniques for project-based building, and learn to develop a fully-realized build challenge as part of a team. Working on sophisticated design problems for large-scale structures will enhance their critical thinking and creativity skills. Day 1: Students will Join the campground and build your own chunk of a team-collaboration project. Start brainstorming ideas about what type of large skill project you would like to build with your team. Day 2: Put an outline together and build the start of a collaborative mega-project. Start working on a collaborative team build with things like interior and minor details in mind. Day 3: Continue building mission maps, learn about Redstone and devise ways to implement it as part of the mission. Day 4: Continue working on the Mission Map. Have friends try your adventure and give suggestions to help you make a fun gaming experience. Complete your mission. Day 5: Complete any and all builds using feedback from previous sessions. Our experienced instructor will guide the students through the importance of communication while working as a member of a team, providing them with an opportunity to practice and develop their interpersonal skills. This course is designed to be taken multiple times, with each session having a unique challenge. Our class is structured around a variety of activities and tools, including video clips, slides, discussions, games, and lecture. Our instructor has a student-centered teaching style, ensuring that each student is engaged and able to contribute to the team effort. Throughout the course, the learners will work closely with each other to design and build a mega-scale Minecraft Missions project, providing them with an opportunity to develop teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Previous experience with Minecraft is recommended, but not required. The course is designed to teach learners how to use Minecraft to solve challenges and achieve their objectives. Parents can expect their child to be engaged in fun and creative activities that encourage learning and collaboration, all within a safe and secure online environment. By the end of this course, students will have learned how to implement various methods and techniques for project-based building, design a fully-realized build challenge as part of a team, and work on sophisticated design problems for large-scale structures. They will also have improved their communication, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills. At Minecraft Missions, we believe that the key to success is through creativity, critical thinking, and communication. Join us today and discover the endless possibilities of Minecraft! English Language Requirement: This class is designed for students who can communicate comfortably in English at a basic to intermediate level (CEFR A2-B1). Students should be able to understand simple instructions, ask questions, and engage in discussions about their coding projects. If you're unsure about your child's proficiency level, feel free to reach out for guidance!
