This is an ongoing Minecraft gaming class for beginners. Learn the game of Minecraft, teamwork , and socialization skills with other neurodivergent thinkers as well as a neurodivergent teacher. Minecraft helps neurodivergent learners gain critical thinking skills, and promotes imagination. Teachers will create a safe social space for all learners. The groups are small to provide attention to all learners. The teacher will coach the students throughout the game! Learners will gain social skills and communicate with a teacher who has learned to excel at life with similar neurodivergent qualities. Gaming in this small group will help students build social skills, manage frustrations, gain patience, understand feelings, and empathize with others. This game is cross platform, so it doesn't matter what system you are using; playstation, Xbox, Switch or PC. Sample Schedule: Week of December 3 - Introduction to the game Week of December 10 - review and game play Week of December 17 - review and game play Week of December 24 - reveiw and game play

Gamer tags are required for gaming. For safety and privacy, please message the teacher privately and give your gamer user name prior to the class, and do not share your gamer tag with the other students.

Not only do I teach core subjects, but I am a gamer with personal life experience, as well as education in computer science and website design. Additionally, I am Neurodivergent and have experience with children and other adults who are also on the spectrum, or have special needs.
