What are microgreens? Microgreens are baby plants of some things you have probably heard of before. Broccoli, Kale, Cabbage, and Radish are just a few of the microgreen varieties that I have experience growing. Learn about Microgreens in this one time introductory course. This class will involve a combination of slides and hands on demonstrations of the standard processes used to grow microgreens. I will introduce concepts to students, then allow them to discuss what they are learning with prompting questions. This class is a great opportunity to gage your child's interest in growing their own food. I will share how my family grows microgreens for ourselves and for restaurants as part of our business. By the end of the course, students should be able to answer the following questions: ○ What is a microgreen? ○ What are the benefits of growing microgreens? ○ What materials are required to grow indoors? ○ What are some standard growing practices? ○ What is Hydroponics? ○ How do you harvest and eat microgreens? This course is meant to be an introduction. Students will not be growing microgreens for this class. Check out my course "Grow Your Own Hydroponic Microgreens From Seed to Harvest." These hands on courses will dive deeper into growing your own microgreens with seeding, daily care, solving problems, and harvest of microgreens.
