Meet the Numberblocks! Learn Simple Math- Addition and Subtraction - UK Teacher

In this fun one-time class, learners will meet the Numberblocks 1-5.  As we join the gang, your learner will explore the concept of one more and one less and also meet Zero!   Through hands-on exploration, song and turn-taking your young learner will practice counting and also learn one more or less than a given number up to 5.

Students will use math link cubes* (and their fingers!) as an introduction to the first five Numberblocks and begin to solve simple math problems such as add on one and subtract one (one more/one less).  They will also explore what happens when you have one less than Numberblock 1, meeting Zero!  Each learner will be given ample opportunity to practise new concepts through 'my turn, our turn, your turn' at each step.
No experience of counting is required for this class.

*Math link cubes are not needed for class.  A group of 5 small objects can be substituted such as wooden or plastic blocks, dry pasta shapes, breakfast cereal loops, counters, crayons or toy cars!
