Description
Class Experience
This on-going class is offered both once a week, twice a week and as a FLEX class. ***This class listing meets once per week.*** Learners will interact with both teacher and other students to solve two-digit addition and subtraction problems. We begin class with a minds-on picture to elicit math talk and sharing followed by mental math practice focusing on a specific strategy each week. Learners should have a basic understanding of making tens and place value (tens and ones). We will use...
Learners will develop mental math computation strategies for addition and subtraction. Learners will recognize math in everyday images. Learners will develop a deep understanding of number relationships. Learners will make connections and think flexibly about numbers. Learners will build confidence in math! Learners will appreciate that mistakes are valuable and help our learning.
Whiteboard/Dry Erase or Paper/Pencil (optional to draw out strategies)
