Why do we do math in a certain order? Learn the order of operations in a fun, energetic way that makes it seem less like math and more like a game. We will also explore why there are some myths out there claiming that the PEMDAS method doesn't work -- where are the naysayers going wrong? In this class, we will learn to complete the order of operations, and what each part means: Parentheses - how did these English symbols get into math? Exponents - how are exponents and multiplication different? Multiplication and Division - OR Division and Mulitplication - we will explore how we do BOTH a the same time, from left to right, and how the answer can be different if we do them separately. Addition and Subtraction - OR Subtraction and Addition - we will be able to explain why the simplest part comes last, and why we also do these from left to right at the same time.
