Math and Reading Journey | 1-on-1 Tutoring for Young Learners

In this ongoing class, I work 1-on-1 with young learners to teach them the basics of both math and reading through engaging instruction.

Reading and Math are the core foundations of any educational program. My tutoring serves as a fun introduction to both of these core subjects. We can adjust emphasis and schedule as needed, but by default we will split our time evenly between phonics-based reading instruction and beginner math within each meeting, and we meet twice per week. I am happy to meet the learner wherever they are. This might mean introducing letters and numbers for the first time, or guiding the reader through stories and mathematical puzzles.

I like to theme lessons to learners' interests. If a learner likes horses, for example, I will design reading prompts and math examples based on these interests.

I generally include a short "brain break" in the middle of each class, usually sharing a brain break run or dance video. If the learner's setting or body are not conducive to physical activity, I can employ other brain breaks, such as games and songs.

I do not have a particular weekly schedule, as our content each week is directed by the learner's needs.
