In this one-time class, students will learn about how to shade simple objects and faces using imaginary light sources.
Class experience
In this class, we will learn the meanings of some key words like "light source" "cast shadow" and "form shadow." Then, learners will draw along with me to learn about how to shade simple shapes such as cubes, spheres, and ribbons, before we move on to drawing a face together and shading it in a realistic way, based on the position of an imaginary light source, and based on the techniques we will have practiced up to that point. My teaching style is relaxed and conversational, so throughout...
Learners should have a pencil and one or two pieces of paper to draw on, at minimum. If they prefer to use pens, that's fine, but some of my lessons involve erasing a "base drawing" and adding more details on top, so please keep that in mind.
