In this one time class, students will have fun learning about responsibility, why it is important and how they can build this life skill into their daily life.

Class experience

In this class, students will:
1. learn what RESPONSIBILITY is.
2. explore ways to demonstrate responsibility.
3. identify the benefits of being responsible.
4. practice and develop concrete skills they can incorporate into their daily lives.
5. earn their RESPONSIBILITY badge and certificate.
6. HAVE FUN!
Professionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have a Masters of Education (MEd) and Masters of Social Work (MSW) with a focus on Child Development (Risk and Prevention). My passion is helping children realize their potential by teaching them skills to help them lead positive, productive lives. I know that learning happens best in an environment that is engaging and interactive. My goal is to teach material in a way that is fun and memorable.

A printer will be needed to print out handouts (3-6 pages) and a 3-hole punch so you can add these pages to your binder. Also, crayons/markers/colored pencils (whatever you have) will be used after class to complete the assignments. Some homework assignments may also require scissors (with adult supervision) and glue. If you would like to complete the "MY BEST ME" binder to organize all of your LIFE SKILLS SERIES materials, you will need a half-inch binder (or 1 inch if you can't find a 1/2 inch binder) with a clear front pocket.
Parental involvement is encouraged so that the ideas we talk about in class can be reinforced between classes. Repetition and reinforcement is critical, especially with little learners. The more my little learners are talking about these concepts outside of class, the easier it will be for them to incorporate them into their daily lives and mindset.
