RESPONSIBILITY...is doing the right thing, even when you don't want to, even when no one is looking. In this one time class, we’re going to look at what being responsible means and how your child can be responsible at home, with their growth/development and in their relationships. Professionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have a Masters of Education (MEd) and Masters of Social Work (MSW) with a focus on Child Development (Risk and Prevention). My passion is helping children realize their potential by teaching them skills to help them lead positive, productive lives. I know that learning happens best in an environment that is engaging and interactive. My goal is to teach material in a way that is fun and memorable.
1 file available upon enrollmentA printer will be needed to print out handouts (3-6 pages) and a 3-hole punch so you can add these pages to your binder. Also, crayons/markers/colored pencils (whatever you have) will be used after class to complete the assignments. Some homework assignments may also require scissors (with adult supervision) and glue. If you would like to complete the "MY BEST ME" binder to organize all of your LIFE SKILLS SERIES materials, you will need a half-inch binder (or 1 inch if you can't find a 1/2 inch binder) with a clear front pocket.
Parental involvement is encouraged so that the ideas we talk about in class can be reinforced between classes. Repetition and reinforcement is critical, especially with little learners. The more my little learners are talking about these concepts outside of class, the easier it will be for them to incorporate them into their daily lives and mindset.
