US Grade Pre-Kindergarten
This is an ongoing course for students who are reading on a 1st and 2nd grade level but struggling. My class will be just like how I taught in the classroom in the small group reading classes. We will start out by practicing sight words that 1st & 2nd graders need to know before leaving their grade. Next, we will work on fluency reading. Finally, we will read a book together that will be projected on the screen. We will talk about what it is asking as well as reading skills each story. This course will have a new book taught each week from Reading A-Z as well as picture books I have. All of my material will be leveled to fit the needs of your child. Your learner will need to know their letters, sounds, basic reading skills, and the concept of written language before taking this course. Please have a pencil and paper or a white board and marker that is ready for each class. Please reach out if you have any questions. Each class will go through: 1. Sight Word - Through games and cards 2. Phonics Skills - A different skill each week built into our reading and spelling words 3. Spelling Words 4. Reading a passage on their level 5. Comprehension questions 6. Speak about fluency page - A fluency page will be provided for the students to practice reading each day to help growing their reading rate. (This is optional but will quickly help them. I recommend you print it out for them to be able to put their fingers on it. 7. Review extra OPTIONAL activities that will be available after the class for extension activities. An additional story will be given for the students to work on each week for extra practice. Week 1 - Phonics/Spelling Pattern: ou & ow, and passage Week 2 - Phonics/Spelling Pattern: oy & oi, and passage Week 3 - Phonics/Spelling Pattern: "u" sounds - oo, u, u_e, ew, ue, ui, ou, and passage Week 4 - Phonics/Spelling Pattern: a, aw, au, augh, al, & ough, and passage

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas A&M Commerce
I am a teacher in Texas certified to teach from Pre-K to 6th grade. I am also certified in Special Education, Gifted and Talented, ESL (English as a Second Language). I will have my masters in August 2022 with Educational Leadership. I am currently a Math Instructional Coach for 4 campuses in Texas from grades Pre-K to 6th. That means I help teachers and support them in their teaching. When they struggle with teaching a skill, they can call me in and I will help them plan a great lesson around what they are teaching. I feel very confident in teaching. I have taught many levels from 6th, 5th, 3rd, and 2nd. I have also been a tutor in my hometown for parents and now I am going to expand to all over our country.
