US Grade 3
Welcome to third-grade math! In this interactive math class, we will explore third-grade math curriculum through collaborative learning and engaging activities. Each week, we will cover a different part of the third-grade math common core curriculum. 🔹Twice Weekly Live Meetings: We will meet twice a week to learn and practice our new math skills. 🔹Optional Homework: Students will be given optional homework each week. This homework will reinforce our classroom learning. Week of February 12 - Adding with regrouping up to 1000 Week of February 19 - Subtracting with regrouping up to 1000 Week of February 26 - Adding and subtracting word problems Week of March 4 - Getting ready to multiply! Week of March 11 - Multiplication basics (multiply with 0, 1, 5, 10) Week of March 18 - Multiplication basics (multiply with 2, 4, 6) Week of March 25 - Multiplication basics (multiply with 7, 8, 9) Week of April 1 - Getting ready to divide! Week of April 8 - Divide by 1 digit numbers Week of April 15 - Connecting multiplication and division Week of April 22 - Division word problems Week of April 29 - Introducing fractions Week of May 6 - Fractions on the number line Week of May 13 - Fractions and whole numbers Week of May 20 - Comparing fractions Week of May 27 - Multiplication and division word problems Week of June 3 - Quadrilaterals Week of June 10 - Area Week of June 17- Perimeter Week of June 24 - Time Week of July 1 - Graphing Week of July 7 - Rounding to the nearest 10, 100 Please note that our class topics are subject to change if necessary. You are welcome to join the class at any time. This comprehensive class focuses on the common core third-grade math curriculum. Our sessions will include collaborative problem-solving, discussions, instruction and practice. We (usually) have a couple of minutes of optional off-topic sharing at the end of each class. This allows students to connect with each other and share things that are going on in their lives outside the classroom. This class is best for students ages 7-9 or those working at the third-grade math level. This is an inclusive class and all learners are welcome. We can’t wait to meet your learner in the classroom!
Learning Goals
We will learn about addition up to 1000, subtraction up to 1000, multiplication, division, place value, rounding, fractions, time, area, measurement, perimeter, and quadrilaterals.
