In this fun and artistic class, we'll look at the history of Ancient Greece. While we examine artifacts, we'll talk about the designs and art of this civilization. While examining artifacts, students will discuss the types of designs and images we see. Each student will use their observations and the historical discussion to create a design for their own Spartan shield. Shields will be made from cardboard and an adult may need to help with cutting out the circular shape. After completing the project, the students will have a chance to explain their artistic choices in reference to the history we discussed.
