Teacher: Linette Ballew - curriculum by LEGO Education Prerequisites: Basic writing skills - Master Builders will write short stories during the live session then create 3-D scenes on their own time using LEGO elements. We will work the basics of beginning, middle and ending of story writing, as well as public speaking, writing (building words) one portion/paragraph each week. The overall goal of this class is to bring struggling writers into a new appreciation for language on paper, for experienced writers to dive deeper into incorporating detail and for all students to learn to build with purpose using LEGO elements. Students improve their writing skills by learning to be topic congruent and detail specific. This class incorporates several senses and skills to encourage a love of writing. LEGO Story Starter is intended to increase confidence in public speaking by allowing students to read their own written material and explaining their LEGO creations to a small class, from the privacy of home.
