SUMMER SMASH #creative Welcome to Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Creative Writing Class Part 2 -----COURSE DESCRIPTION----- This class is very similar to Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Creative Writing Class Part 1. However, we will focus more on revision, editing, and grammar. At the beginning of each lesson, I will teach them a different literary device. They will then need to incorporate that literary device in their homework assignment. Students must turn in their assignment on Outschool before the due date. I will look at their writing, give them feedback, and help them improve their writing. -----SCHEDULE----- Day 1 Students will create a new region of Hyrule. Just like in part 1, students will get to imagine a new place in Hyrule. They cannot use a region that they created in part 1 of this class. Day 2 Students will write five character sketches for new characters in their region. We will discuss what makes a strong character and a weak character. We will also talk about character foils, traits, and development. Day 3 Students will create a multi-step side quest that must be completed in their region. This side quest will follow a story line. Students will learn how to follow a story mountain and write a complete mini story. Day 4 Revision day. We will talk all about revising and how to revise effectively. Students will choose something they wrote for this class and revise it. They will turn in both the original and the revised version with comments on what they changed and why. Day 5 Zelda show and tell and Jeopardy game.
