Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - 12
In this fun on-going class, each week will focus on a different creative subject! Some of the subjects that are rotated each week involve art, creative writing, comic strip making, journaling, and poetry. This is an interactive platform to let learners get creative, de-stress, and be inspired to think outside the box! (Learners can join and quit at any time as each week is based on a separate subject and therefore doesn't build on the previous one.) The following is a sample lesson plan but it can be changed to suit your learner's creative interests: Week One: Art Expression Learners will be given a choice of three thought provoking concepts to incorporate into their next picture! (Sketching, painting & digital art all accepted.) Week Two: Story Writing Learners will be given a choice of three writing prompts to inspire a new story! Week Three: Comic Strip Making! Learners will be given a choice of three fun, random scenarios to build a short comic story around. (Digital art is accepted!) Week Four: Bullet Journaling Learners will be shown a few examples of artsy bullet journaling pages and then will work on creating their own fun journal page! Week Five: Poetry Time Learners will choose one out of three interesting photos to write a poem about. As time allows, more writing prompts can be used. Note to parents: Because this is a one on one class, this can be tailored to fit your learner's preferences! For example, if your learner prefers more art based activities than poetry ones, this can be arranged. Likewise, if your learner doesn't like one of the activities listed such as music, we can replace it with a different topic that interests them more such as comic strip sketching or bullet journaling. Feel free to let me know your learner's creative preferences so that we can incorporate them into this class. This class is great for everyone, from the serious writer and artist to the learner who is wanting to get their feet wet and wants more opportunities to get creative. This class has a light-hearted, chill atmosphere and nobody has pressure to make something "perfect" or "technically correct". This class is meant to encourage all learners to embrace their unique individual self and find joy in whatever art project they are working on. Students with ADHD are welcome to join as I have found art and creativity to be a positive outlet for such gifted individuals! I personally love hosting this type of class because it's both fun and flexible, as well as being a great artistic outlet when learners need a refreshing creative break from testing and homework. Don't see a day/time listed that's convenient for your learner? Feel free to reach out to me with a day/time request! 如果想用中文跟我来沟通的话,也可以!
Learning Goals
Learners will gain confidence in their artistic endeavors as they exercise their imagination through fun activities and have the opportunity to share what they make in a judge-free environment.

Supply List
Depending on the topic, students will need to bring relevant materials. For example, if the topic is on creative writing or poetry, students will be expected to have access to paper and a pencil (or an electronic device if they prefer writing in a digital format). For art classes, students will need access to either a canvas or paper and some kind of paint (or another medium they prefer). If the learner prefers to do digital art using an electronic device, this will be accepted too.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from United States Institute of Language and Clerical Studies *No expiration date
I have worked abroad helping teenagers to brainstorm and improve their writing. I currently enjoy blogging, writing stories, painting cards for friends and helping elementary school students enjoy writing more. This past year I was asked twice to write and present a poem for special events. I have held creative writing and art workshops over zoom for both young and older people and enjoy writing, painting, and all things creative!
