Learning to Write the Alphabet (Capital Letters)

Students will learn to write each letter of the alphabet (capital letters first **lower case will be taught in a different class).  Each meeting, students will learn to write 2 new letter.  The letters will not be taught in the traditional ABC order, they will will be taught in the order which is easiest to learn to write.  We will do some prewriting before actually writing the new letters.  First, we will look and talk about the letters (what kind of lines, curves, and how many).  We will then form the letter with the print outs given (big lines, little lines, big curves, little curves).   We will then build our letter with playdoh and trace our letters with different colors to create a rainbow letter (rainbow letter sheets are printouts).  Last, we will write the new letters all by ourselves.  They are welcome to use a dry erase marker and board or paper.
