Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
In Ms. Julie and Pippa's classes, the focus is on keeping kids connected, engaged, learning and smiling. On Mondays, we learn the alphabet and early literacy skills. Feel free to jump into the class at any point in its run; we'll do something new each week, so your learner won't be behind if they didn't start at the beginning. - Students will learn and revisit the letters of the alphabet through a variety of learning tools, including songs, dances, direct teaching, reading, and extension activities. Students will develop early literacy skills through interactive read-alouds. Students will develop and practice social skills through chats with friends.
This is my third year of teaching preschool literacy on Outschool. Prior to my Outschool career, I was a literacy tutor and interventionist for five years. I have a BFA in English and a MA in Education.
Assessment
Frequency: includedDetails: Students will be assessed verbally through participation and frequent check-ins throughout each class.
Blank paper and coloring supplies (markers, crayons, or colored pencils).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No violent or weapon play is allowed in class, even in imaginary games and show-and-tell.
