This class is designed for beginners. Your young learner will discover their hidden talent. They will learn the beginner basics about guitar playing, tuning the guitar, the standard guitar chords, and how to play their first song.

What's included

6 live meetings
2 hrs 30 mins in-class hours
Homework
1-2 hours per week. We will practice during class but they will improve much more if they practice playing and strumming what they’ve learned on their own time as well. The students will also be taught a song that will be play and presented the final class in week 3. Their homework will be to practice the song and prepare for this presentation.

Class Experience

This class will be very fun and exciting. Your young learner will learn the beginner basics of guitar playing. Here is a breakdown of the course week by week:

Week 1

Introduction to the different guitar parts. 
Learn how to properly hold the guitar.
Learn how to tune with or without a guitar tuner. 
Learn how to play your first two guitar chords.
Learn how to play play two new guitar chords.


Week 2

Learn some tips on how to easily switch from one chord to the next.
Learn about finger positioning and balancing so that we can avoid common mistakes.
Learn how to be creative and create your own song using a few simple guitar chords.
Learn how to play three more guitar chords that are very famous and used in many songs.
Learn about strings that are supposed to be played and which strings should not be played with different guitar chords.
Learn two different playing styles: strumming and picking.
We'll listen to different songs so that the student can identify the difference between these two playing styles. 


Week 3

Learn how to play your first guitar song.
The student will listen to the first song they're playing and practice with the teacher.
The song is age appropriate and easy to play with the guitar chords  they've learned thus far. 
Final project: Students can practice at home the song and send the teacher an audio recording of them playing the song.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basic parts of the guitar, how to tune the guitar, standard guitar chords, how to strum, and learn how to play one of their favorite songs.

1. Hello, my name is Teacher Sean. I teach classes of Spanish, Guitar, and Keyboard Typing. I even teach free Bible classes during my free time. I love to teach. 

2. I've been teaching for 20 years to small groups, large groups, and individual one-on-one classes. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science and Technology. I also have a TEFL certificate for teaching English as a foreign language.
