Class Experience

In this short class we will learn verbs and simple sentences in Spanish. This class is an interactive class where kids will participate by performing the actions of the verb in the sentence. I use puppets to animate and illustrate my classes. The puppets are very inclusive and actively engage learners in discussion. This helps with students confidence and promotes a fun environment where a positive outlook on learning is achieved. The use of illustrative slides will also be a part of the class. 

We will practice 5 sentences and act them out if possible.

-I like to jump.
-I like to play. 
-I like to eat_____. (apples, bananas, carrots, oranges, popcorn etc.)
-I like to drink_____. (juice, milk, hot chocolate, milk chocolate, lemonade etc.) 
-I like to count. ( we will count to 12)


Learners are not required but encouraged to act out the verbs.  Learners are encouraged to bring a snack and drink for exercises that mention food or drink. Food and drink not required, but help solidify lesson more easily. This class involves moving in place. The classes are very exciting so some noise may be expected from your learners.

Throughout my life I have been a Spanish teacher, an online ESL teacher, a GED instructor, taught science in my neighborhood community center. I have held many roles as an educator but the role I have enjoyed the most has been as a family man and the educational experiences I have had with the young learners in my life have been the most rewarding. I have always enjoyed reading to them and teaching them new things. I have taught various types of classes from Spanish to basic science and general knowledge classes. I have taught several online classes with great success in subjects ranging from anatomy to astronomy. Currently I have found teaching Spanish on Outschool very rewarding. Outschool lets me share my passion of storytelling. I started developing my storytelling abilities as a very young boy and perfected them once I became a Father of two very young girls. My stories and teaching methods reflect the dynamic I have with my daughters as a single father raising two daughters full time. The challenges and rewards have made me grow into a better person and a better dad. I strive to better myself as an educator and take into consideration all aspects of my learners needs within the classroom. 
 I have a Bachelor of science in engineering and my work background is in Electrical Engineering, with various other skills and abilities mixed In. I am currently working on my psychology degree with an emphasis on child psychology.  My passion for learning and teaching goes hand in hand. I approach every teaching moment as an opportunity to learn as well. 
I am an avid trivia enthusiast having competed and winning multiple trivia competitions. Random facts and the pursuit of enlightenment fill my days. If I can share my fun facts and help a child see learning as a fun activity my goal as a teacher is fulfilled.
