Let’s learn Spanish! In this semester-long course, students will learn Spanish through interaction with a native Spanish speaker and other Spanish language learners. This course will include everything a beginner needs to kick off their Spanish language learning journey. This class will also focus greatly on grammar and correct language use. We will begin by learning how to greet people in Spanish and by the end of the course students will be able to build their own simple sentences. They will also have a varied vocabulary that will help them navigate their way through basic conversations in Spanish. Students will put these skills to practice in each class and will even create a journal for the duration of the course. Class content will be presented through interactive PowerPoint-Style presentations and students will be prompted to answer questions and build their own sentences in Spanish. Students will also be provided with flashcards and worksheets related to each class topic. Learning a new language can be a scary experience. For this reason, each class will be taught in English and Spanish. Instructions and explanations will be provided in English, but the content will be taught in Spanish. This class is intended for Spanish beginners which includes students who have never been exposed to or have had limited Spanish instruction. Classes will be structured in the following way: Part I: Review relevant content Part II: Introduction to the topic Part III: Put it into practice Part IV: Final review Each class will have a specific topic but will build on the previous ones. Activities, vocabulary, or content will be related to that topic. ✨Weekly Class Topics✨ ⭐️Week 1: Greetings and Introductions ⭐️Week 2: Nouns (Masculine/Feminine) (Singular/Plural) ⭐️ Week 3: Introduction to Verbs (to eat/to drink/to read/to run) and Pronouns (I, You) ⭐️ Week 4: Verbs (to cook/to swim/to write) and Pronouns (He/She, They) ⭐️ Week 5: Vocabulary for food and items/ Sentence Building ⭐️ Week 6: Verbs (to walk/to play/ to have) and Negative Sentences ⭐️Week 7: Review and Colors ⭐️ Week 8: Size and Story Time ⭐️ Week 9: Vocabulary and Question Words ⭐️ Week 10: Question Words and Practice ⭐️ Week 11: Special Writing Activities ⭐️Week 12: Numbers 1-100 ⭐️ Week 13: Professions and the verb (to do) ⭐️ Week 14: Items around the house ⭐️ Week 15: Special Practice Activities (Writing, Speaking, Reading) ⭐️ Week 16: Final Review All topics are subject to shift and change without notice depending on holidays and class performance.

Students will NEED a notebook dedicated to this class. In this notebook, they will be able to keep their writing practice. Students will also use this notebook during class for other drawing or writing activities.
