In this interactive, 8-lesson, flexible schedule, self-paced course, your child will learn to communicate in sign language. No sign language experience is required. Our classes will focus on getting your child comfortable using their hands and face to communicate in sign language. We will use flash cards, props, drawings, and various objects from our surroundings to learn signs. No live classes. All classes are prerecorded. Your learner will also be introduced to deaf culture. We will build on what we've learned each class, and each lesson we will have practice homework. All lessons are prerecorded and available for you immediately after enrollment. Each class will begin with a review of knowledge and will end with the homework assignment. The students will be able to watch the class and sign along with the teacher/s. They will then be encouraged to teach someone else what they've learned. Before the next lesson each student is encouraged to submit a video of themselves signing the assigned homework. The teacher will be able to see how learners are progressing in their signs and give commendation and correction where needed.
