In this course, we will get familiar with the language and culture of the Romans by studying life in ancient Pompeii and Herculaneum. Starting from scratch, we will learn basic vocabulary and sentence structure, look at English words that come from Latin and discover Roman civilisation and mythology. I am a qualified teacher with more than 15 years' experience introducing young learners to the language and history of the ancient world. I have trained in Philosophy for Children as well as Dyslexia and Foreign Language Teaching.
Students will need pen and paper, and any supplies they want to use if they want to produce artwork or cook something as part of their homework -there will be plenty of flexibility with the projects.
