Description
Class Experience
In this course, students will learn a variety of strategies to help them successfully add and subtract within 20. Every class will include a variety of games and practice problems so students get ample practice at using the various strategies. Week 1- Adding numbers within 5 Week 2- Subtracting numbers within 5 Week 3- Solving word problems within 5 Week 4- Adding numbers within 10 Week 5- Subtracting numbers within 10 Week 6- Solving word problems within 10 Week 7- Adding within 20 Week 8-...
Students will count to 20. Students will accurately add numbers within 20. Students will accurately subtract numbers within 20. Students will determine the appropriate operation for addition and subtraction word problems.
Every week students receive a page of practice problems to complete outside of class time.
One page of practice problems to be completed at home is provided each week.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will complete a quiz on Nearpod every other week to determine progress. Parents are emailed the results and instruction is adjusted based off results.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Nearpod will be utilized every other week to assess students mastery of the mathematical concepts.
