Get ready for a fun and engaging summer math adventure! This Kindergarten Math Review & Prep class is designed to help young learners strengthen their foundational math skills while preparing for the next school year. Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and exciting games, students will explore important math concepts in a way that feels like play. ✨We are proud to be the first and only accredited Montessori school on the Outschool platform, featuring certified teachers who bring their expertise from our brick-and-mortar school located in Ontario, Canada.✨ 𝗧𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 🌟 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆 𝟭 explores shapes, patterns, and measurement. 🔢 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆 𝟮 is all about counting and number sense. 🧮 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆 𝟯 focuses on skip counting and comparisons. ➕ 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆 𝟰 serves as an introduction to addition and subtraction. 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 ✅ Review: We begin by going over the topic of the day. ✅ Teacher Modeling: The teacher demonstrates with fun examples. ✅ Student Application: Learners actively participate in activities to apply their knowledge. ✅ Practice at Home: Homework/review sheets are posted so students can continue learning outside of class. 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗬𝗟𝗘 Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact with both the teacher and their peers. Everyone gets a turn to participate, ask questions, and showcase their skills during class exercises and activities. My teaching style is all about keeping it fun yet productive—so students will enjoy learning while making real progress. Identify and name common 2D shapes, recognize shapes in the environment, and create simple repeating patterns.
Understand and use positional words (above, below, beside, next to), and compare objects using basic measurement concepts (longer, shorter, taller).

2D Shapes & Patterns
Students will explore and identify common 2D shapes and their properties. They will practice recognizing shapes in their surroundings and create repeating patterns using colors, objects, and movement.

Lesson 2:
Object Positions & Simple Measurement
This class focuses on positional words like above, below, beside, and next to. Students will also compare objects using basic measurement terms (longer, shorter, taller) through hands-on activities.

Lesson 3:
Numbers 0-20
Students will learn to recognize, count, and write numbers 0-20 while understanding their order on a number line. We will use interactive games and visuals to reinforce number recognition and sequencing.

This lesson introduces place value of tens and ones, helping students see patterns in numbers and understand quantities.

Supply List
A weekly material list will be provided to you prior to class, in preparation for the following week of classes. Learners are responsible for having the listed materials on hand and printed worksheets ready. If learners are missing a material, alternative suggestions can be provided. Classes will typically require commonly found household items or stationary such as: pencil, eraser, highlighter, scissors, stapler, glue etc.
