This class is to decide if a student can be placed at a higher-level class based on the student’s prior Japanese language study. This is a onetime class that is designed to gauge your child's Japanese skill.

This class is designed for students who studied Japanese before and feel like they are capable of entering into a higher-level course. This class is designed to gauge students speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities to see if they still need to take a new beginner class, a high beginner class, intermediate class, or even an advanced class. This is a relaxed atmosphere where the teacher will attempt to converse with the student in Japanese while increasing the difficulty as they go...
I am a Japanese langauge teacher at at the high school level and lived in Japan for more than 10 years.
While the teacher won't be using any sources for the placement class, students are able to utilize textbooks such as Genki, Youkoso, and so on as well as apps such as Duolingo or sites such as youtube, Japanesepop101 and so on.
