I have been teaching for 17 years, I have a passion for music and love to teach it to beginning students. Music opens so many possibilities and Ukuleles are an easy instrument to learn. You can learn something one day and be able to play it right away. I teach PreK-5th grade general music and art, This including learning pitched and non pitched instruments, music history, movement, guitar and ukulele.
Homework Offered
Practice the techniques and chords between classes, Practice every day even if it is for just 15 min. you have to build up stamina and with a fast course you can only get better by practicing the skills that we have learned in class.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Visually I will assess the proper way to hold the guitar, strumming fingers, and correct hand positions for chords.Grades Offered
1 file available upon enrollmentI will provide the information and chord finger positions and all they need is a guitar and the willingness to learn something new every day. There are many free apps that you can download to help tune your guitar. I use Guitar Tuner app and it would be great if you could tune the guitar before class. We will talk about tuning the first class so after that class they should be able to tune the ukulele before the rest of the classes. You will tune your guitar starting with the top string and working down. The guitar should be tuned to the string names Low E, A, D, G, B, High E.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
