Class Experience

Evolution and extinction are complex and exciting topics but can be hard to understand when lacking a basic understanding of genetics (usually not covered until middle school) The purpose of this class is to introduce how and why some animals go extinct while others do not, as well as how plants and animals change over time. We will explore "Big Picture" ideas such as: traits, DNA, adaptations, fitness, evolution and extinction; in a developmentally appropriate manner. Similar to my other live animal programs, this class features 6 exciting LIVE animals to help us explore these complex concepts and bring the science to LIFE! Learners are given the opportunity to ask questions throughout the program and to become active participants in their own learning journey.

Please be aware there is overlap in the animals seen between this program and my other programs. However, the content covered differs from my "Wild About Animals", "Creepy Crawlie", and "Radical Reptiles" programs.

I believe learning can and SHOULD be fun. My motto here at Doodlebugs Animal Adventures is "A curious mind can CHANGE the WORLD"

I can't wait to explore the exciting topics of Evolution and Extinction with your learner.
