This class is for those who want a better understanding of what dungeons and dragons is, as well as for those who are new to the game and want to learn how to get started. We will learn about the player options for making their first character, the basic rules of d&d, and the various dice used to play. This course will be fun and interactive; I will be working with each student to craft their first character and to fill their imaginations! There is no prior experience needed. Students only require the ability to perform basic math (ie 11+7) to determine the outcomes of their rolls.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to make their own characters and how to start playing dungeons and dragons.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
My focus is on the role-playing game dungeons and dragons. I want to teach everyone how to play, and if students are up for the task, how to run their own games with their friends.
Role-playing games are an incredible experience that teaches problem-solving skills as well as how to work together as a team. Players place themselves "into someone else's shoes" while taking risks in a safe environment in a way that builds confidence, empathy, and speaking skills.
I have been running games for more than a decade.
