Welcome Introduction to Chess Using Math: Beginners Part 3. The objective of this class is to begin playing the game of chess. Students ages 5- 11 apply basic critical thinking skills, by learning the game of chess. The course will review the chessboard, identifying chess pieces, and setting up a chessboard. Introduction to Chess Part 3 focuses on moving the chess pieces, Students will interact using a short lecture, video clips, and create drawings. Upon completion of the three-day class, the learner should be able to identify chess pieces and their names, square names on the chessboard, and set up a chessboard. On the third day of class, learners will compete in a timed competition, setting up the chessboard.
