Class Experience

Teacher Beau prefers to let experince be the teacher. We will jump right into a match and learn the basics of chess including the names of the various pieces, how they move, and early game strategies all while playing the game itself. The teachers approach to chess is helping the student develop a love for chess by learning while playing. We will not be memorizing openings as this can be discouraging to beginners. We will be using chess.com to see the correct way to move pieces.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Beau and I am excited to get to know your child. I teach a variety of gaming classes. Surprising to many is the fact that there are many important life skills that can be gained by playing video games. For example, video games can help you, fine-tune motor skills, teach time management, and strategical thinking. My teaching philosophy is learning can come from unexpected avenues. Learning should be fun and not feel like a chore.
