Class Experience

Teenagers are faced with conflicts every day. We can't really blame them for not knowing how to react and deal with it. They are still growing and learning about themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, their likes and dislikes, and their values and beliefs.
Learners in this class will discuss different types of conflict, why it is important to learn how to resolve them, and what techniques are best for resolving conflict.
This class will be interactive and involve discussion. Learners will work as individuals and in groups to discuss different conflict-type scenarios, how to approach them, and different techniques to manage and resolve issues.
Conflict Resolution is a course that teaches students how to deal with conflict in a healthy way. It helps them to identify the root of the conflict and find ways to resolve it.
This 45-minute class will include interactive polls, discussions, a quiz, and active discussions that drive critical thinking skills to deal with common conflict situations that young people face on a regular basis.
No prior knowledge or experience is needed to attend this introductory course.

My teaching style is patient and energetic. I believe that it is important for each learner to find their voice and actively engage in their own learning process. This ensures growth and accountability. I will provide provoking questions and discussions to aid in this process. Learning should be a fun, exciting, and interactive process!
No prior knowledge or experience is needed to attend this introductory course.

Learning Goals

The learning goals for this introductory course are for the students to have a basic knowledge of different types of conflict and how miscommunications can lead to disagreement. Students will end class with a basic tool set that includes problem solving skills as they relate to conflict management and resolution in different social settings.
