By the end of the class, the students will feel comfortable with reading a ruler and a tape measure with standard markings within 1/16 of an inch. They will fully understand all of the numbers and all of the lines. The teaching style of this class includes slides, discussions, demonstrations, and an informal quiz. The students will be actively involved. Practice makes perfect! A general understanding of fractions is necessary for this class. The class will involve simple fractions such as 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16.
