What will be taught? In this one-time class, we will talk about money as we learn how to make a budget. Parents always have the option to re-book my class again for future lessons and/or private 1:1 tutoring. What topics will you cover? The topics covered in the class include: -how to be responsible with your money. -Practice making an actual "pretend budget." Parents and I will communicate via email and/or through the Outschool platform. How is your class structured? I provide a fun and safe classroom environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions as we learn and review information. I will create/follow a fun interactive power point lesson that includes games, vivid pictures and rewards for good behavior. How will you teach? I will teach using interactive power point slides. In this power point, I include interactive games, vivid pictures of budgets and rewards for good behavior. What's your teaching style? I’m a big believer in using 'positive reinforcement' to encourage my students. I also use verbal praise as well as (high-fives, rewards and even a prize box.) I find that students are more engaged in the material when there are prizes to be earned. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other? Students will have my direct attention throughout the entire class time. Students will also be able to communicate with each other if he/she needs help. My class is a bully-free zone.
Learning Goals
At the end of class, students will know a simple way to make a budget. Students will also have a better understanding of money and the different ways we can save money.
