Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
I'm very happy to help your child improve their paragraph writing skills! We will spend 40 minutes per class learning how to express our thoughts on paper using good sentence structure. Students have the freedom to choose the topic to write about. Parents, an account is not required for this class. I will only be using resources in a screen-share power point lesson. (#confidence)

What will be taught?
In this class, students will learn how to write a solid paragraph or paragraphs (depending on the writing ability of each student.) This lesson was created using interactive power point slides. Parents have the option to re-book my class again for future lessons.

What topics will you cover?
In this writing class, we will focus on good sentence structure and paragraph writing.
Grades I am qualified to teach include:
1st-6th grade English/language Arts. This includes reading, creative writing, and spelling.
I will collaborate with each student/family to help design a purposeful lesson. Parents and I will communicate through the Outschool platform.

How is your class structured?
I provide a fun and safe classroom environment. Students will be encouraged to ask questions as we practice our paragraph writing. I will create/follow a fun power point lesson which includes interactive writing games and videos to help students understand how to improve their writing.

How will you teach?
I will teach using interactive power point slides. In this power point, I may include interactive games, you tube videos, and reading material (if we need it.)

What is your teaching style?
I am a big believer in using 'positive reinforcement' to encourage my students. I also use verbal praise as well as (high-fives, rewards and even a prize box.) I find that many of my students are more engaged in the material when there are rewards to be earned.

How much will learners get to interact with you and each other?
This class is designed to have one student in class at a time. Each student will have my direct attention throughout the entire 40 minute class.
Learning Goals
Students will practice writing 1-2 paragraphs each class. We will also review any vocabulary/spelling words (if needed.)
