Class Experience

In this class, you'll learn what annotation is, why it's useful and what kinds of notes to take when you annotate.
I've been teaching first-year college students to become better annotators for more than 15 years. Sometimes they show me something new and amazing in a reading I thought I already knew. Then they end up in my annotations!
Optional follow-up homework: Practice the annotation skills you learn in this class and receive feedback on how you did.
Please print the posted reading in advance and have a pen or pencil ready for annotation. No need to read ahead. We will do the reading in class together.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Subject matter and difficulty of readings will be appropriate for high school students.
