Class experience

US Grade 6 - 9
This class is taught in English.
Students will leave knowing the benefits of the plants around them.
I have taught a similar class to my charter students and they loved it. Students love creating something they can keep and I love teaching about the importance of plants and how they grow. In the world we live in, it is vital to understand farming and how we get our food sources. It is also important to teach students how to grow plants so they can always grow their own garden if they want.
Homework Offered
They will have in class and out of class activities. I want them to participate.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The learner is assessed by participation and interaction in class.
Grades Offered
Class 2 Supplies needed
Seeds (1-3 herbs from my list)
-Cilantro, Basil, Parsley, Lavender, Chamomile, Celandula, Peppermint (this will go everywhere and fast), Rosemary, or Oregano.
Jar or container for planting
Potting soil (you cannot use ground soil)
Tools to dig out and move soil
Gloves (optional)

Class 3 Supplies needed (you only need a little bit of the products so when you order them, you do not need a lot):
Beezwax (small amount)
Shea Butter (small amount)
Coconut Oil OR Almond Oil (in oil form)
2 Essential oils (choose 1) (optional) (lavender, grapefruit, lemon, orange, or whatever you want for scent)
Container for lip balm
Mason Jar or glass jar of some kind jar (16oz preferred)
Fork or small whisk
Measuring spoons and cups (just have multiple measuring)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Everything covered will help students understand all plants around them. All supplies will vary but I have listed all supplies in the listing. All resources will be in the classroom. Parents may need to be present for the final class to help. Students need access to a stove top. This requires melting things and dealing with hot wax.
