Beginner Level
Aloha ia kakou, This papa makemakika (math class) is targeted for beginner-level ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language) learners. We’ll cover an abundance of math-skills…each class being a new math-skill. We’ll start with introduction to the ʻike makemakika (math-skill), later MovieTalk onto ke hana hoʻomaʻamaʻa (practice) with one-another, hopena (lastly…) we’ll follow-up with a haʻawina (activity) about the ʻike makemakika (Math-skill.)
Learning Goals
Within this specific class, students will gain a beginning-understanding of nā helu (numbers) through the eye of a kanaka Hawai’i (Hawaiian)
Within this specific class, student will learn hua ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Vocabulary)
Other Details
Pre-Requisites
No pre-requisite classes are needed for this class. This class will be done at a beginner-level. Students who feel they may be ready for an extra challenge, may speak to Kumu Kawehi directly.
Supply List
A variety of Hawaiian Resources may be used, such as YouTube or VIMEO. Once keiki is enrolled, a seperate kaʻaʻike (communication) will be communicated to parents about lako (supplies.)
