Description
Class Experience
Students will acquire a comprehension vocabulary of approximately 30 words/phrases. It is expected that many of these will also be in their speaking vocabulary. Students will be able to greet others and introduce themselves. Students will be able to understand and speak very simple sentences.
I have 7 years experience living in Indonesia, including two years of intensive, full-time language study. I have studied language acquisition and linguistics as part of my degree in Intercultural Studies as well as during my time in Indonesia, and I bring a research-informed, linguistic perspective to language classes.
In between classes, learners will be expected to practice the vocabulary learned in the previous class by watching teacher-prepared videos. Students should take 15-30 minutes daily to practice.
2 files available upon enrollmentI will provide PDF files of pictures and comic strips we will use in class. Before class, please print out these visual aids, preferably on cardstock, and find a safe place to keep them. We will use these as visual aids in every lesson.
I will provide informal written feedback of student progress upon request.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
